Introduction

TardiGeddon is about blowing up cartoon tardigrades, not each other. These Community Guidelines explain how we expect players to behave in online matches, so that everyone, including younger players, has a good time.

Section 1 — Our Community Values

1.0 Purpose

1.0.1 These Community Guidelines apply to online play, including quick play and private rooms (together, "Online Play"), and to the team and tardigrade names you choose, because other players see them.

1.0.2 These Guidelines supplement, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service.

Section 2 — Expected Behaviour

2.0 Be Respectful

2.0.1 Play fair and be a good sport, whether you win or lose. Harassment, hate speech, bullying, threats, or personal attacks directed at any individual or group are not tolerated.

2.1 Choose Friendly Names

2.1.1 Team and tardigrade names, and the player name on your account, must be suitable for players of all ages. Do not use names that are offensive, sexual, hateful, or that mock or target anyone.

2.1.2 Do not use your real full name, address, school, phone number, social media handle, or any other personal information in your names, and do not use other people's.

2.1.3 The game checks names automatically and will not use names with rude words, numbers that could be a phone number, email or website addresses, social media, or anything pretending to be our staff. These checks are not perfect, so please still follow this section and report names that get through (Section 5).

2.1.4 In quick play, where you are matched with people you don't know, nobody sees the names you typed: every team is given a made-up name. Your own names are shown only in private rooms, to the people you invite.

2.1.5 There is no chat in TardiGeddon. Do not use names to try to send messages to other players.

2.2 Be Honest

2.2.1 Do not impersonate other people, including TardiGeddon staff.

2.3 Play the Game

2.3.1 Do not deliberately stall, sabotage, or ruin matches for other players, for example by repeatedly joining and leaving rooms.

Section 3 — Prohibited Behaviour

3.0 Not Allowed

3.0.1 Names or behaviour that are illegal, sexually explicit, discriminatory on the basis of a protected characteristic, or that promote self-harm.

3.0.2 Cheating, including modified game clients, tampering with network messages, bots that play for you against other people, and deliberately exploiting bugs.

3.0.3 Attacking or overloading the online server, including flooding it with connections, rooms, or messages.

3.0.4 Names that infringe the intellectual property rights of others, as further described in our Copyright Policy.

Section 4 — Moderation

4.0 Our Right to Moderate

4.0.1 We may change or hide names, remove players from matches, and block access to Online Play for players who break these Guidelines, at our discretion and without prior notice where circumstances require.

4.1 Appeals

4.1.1 If you believe action was taken against you in error, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] with relevant details. We will review appeals within 10 business days.

Section 5 — Reporting

5.0 Reporting a Player

5.0.1 If another player breaks these Guidelines, use the ⚑ Report button next to their name in the room, or the 👥 button during a match, and choose what is wrong. Your report goes to our team with the room code and the names the player chose; the other player is not told who reported them. You can also email [email protected] with the room code, the team name, and what happened. A screenshot helps.

5.0.2 We review reports according to severity and take action consistent with Section 4. Because we do not keep match records, reports are most useful when sent soon after the match.

5.0.3 If you are worried about your safety or someone else's, please tell a trusted adult and, where appropriate, contact the police.

5.1 Blocking a Player

5.1.1 Use the 🚫 Block button next to a player to block them. You will not be put in quick-play matches with them again, and if you meet them in a private room their names are hidden from you. You can see and undo your blocks in Settings, under Blocked players.

5.1.2 Your list of blocked players is kept on your device. Blocking a signed-in player lasts until you unblock them; blocking a player who is not signed in lasts for their current visit, because we have no way to recognise them later.

Section 6 — General Legal Provisions

6.0 Entire Agreement

6.0.1 This document, together with any other policies referenced within it, constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Company relating to its subject matter, and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, whether written or oral, relating to that subject matter.

6.1 Severability

6.1.1 If any provision of this document is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, lawful, and enforceable.

6.1.2 If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision will be deemed deleted, and the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions will not be affected.

6.2 Waiver

6.2.1 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right, power, or remedy under this document shall operate as a waiver of that right, power, or remedy, nor shall any single or partial exercise preclude any other or further exercise.

6.2.2 Any waiver of any provision of this document will only be effective if given in writing by an authorised representative of the Company.

6.3 Assignment

6.3.1 You may not assign, transfer, or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under this document without the prior written consent of the Company.

6.3.2 The Company may assign, transfer, or sub-contract any of its rights or obligations under this document at any time, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets, provided such assignment does not materially diminish the rights you have been granted.

6.4 Force Majeure

6.4.1 The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this document where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disaster, war, terrorism, civil unrest, industrial action, government action, pandemic, power or telecommunications failure, or failure of third-party suppliers or hosting providers.

6.5 No Third-Party Rights

6.5.1 Except as expressly stated, this document does not confer any rights on any third party under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, and no third party shall have any right to enforce any of its provisions.

6.6 Relationship of the Parties

6.6.1 Nothing in this document shall be construed as creating a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and the Company.

6.7 Notices

6.7.1 Any notice required to be given under this document shall be in writing and shall be delivered by email to the relevant address specified in the Company Details section above, and shall be deemed received 24 hours after being sent, provided no delivery failure notification is received. As the Services do not currently use accounts, we may give notices to you by publishing them on the Website.

6.8 Language and Translation

6.8.1 This document is drafted in English. Any translated versions are provided for convenience only, and in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.

6.9 Survival

6.9.1 Provisions of this document which by their nature are intended to survive termination or expiry — including but not limited to provisions relating to intellectual property, indemnification, limitation of liability, confidentiality, and governing law — shall survive any termination or expiry of your relationship with the Company.

6.10 Interpretation

6.10.1 Headings in this document are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

6.10.2 Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa. References to "including" or "such as" are illustrative and shall not limit the generality of the preceding words.

Section 7 — Amendments to This Document

7.0 Our Right to Update

7.0.1 The Company may revise and update this document at any time, at its sole discretion, to reflect changes in our practices, the Services (for example, when player accounts or cosmetic purchases are introduced), or applicable law.

7.0.2 The "Last Modified" date at the top of this document will be updated whenever changes are made. Where changes are material, we will use reasonable endeavours to provide additional notice, such as a prominent notice on the Website or in the game, before the change takes effect.

7.1 Your Continued Use

7.1.1 Your continued access to or use of the Website or Services after any revisions to this document take effect constitutes your acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, the revised document.

7.1.2 If you do not agree to the revised document, you must stop using the Website and Services.
