Introduction

TardiGeddon is a cartoon game, so we expect children to play it. This policy explains how we protect children's privacy: the whole game can be played without an account, it has no chat, and it keeps online room information (team names and the room code) only in the game server's memory while the room is in use, from the lobby onwards. It is deleted at the latest about two minutes after the last player leaves. Optional accounts, which let players keep shop items on every device, are only for people aged 13 or over.

Section 1 — Our Approach to Children's Privacy

1.0 Designed to Collect as Little as Possible

1.0.1 We recognise that TardiGeddon is likely to be played by children. We have therefore designed it so that players of every age share as little information as possible: there are no adverts, no tracking, no chat, and no analytics apart from cookie-free visit totals that cannot identify anyone, and nobody needs an account, or to give us a name, age, email address, photo, or location, to play any part of the game.

1.0.2 Without an account, the only information a player can enter is team and tardigrade names. These are stored on the player's own device and, in online matches, shown to the other players in that match. We encourage children (and all players) not to use their real name or anything else that could identify them.

1.1 Online Play

1.1.1 Online play is intended for players aged 13 and over. Children under 13 may play online only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Playing against the computer or with friends on the same device does not connect to our game server: once the game has loaded, nothing about the match is sent anywhere. Loading the website and game itself, like visiting any website, means our hosting provider receives your device's IP address (see the Privacy Policy).

1.1.2 We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

1.2 Accounts and Purchases

1.2.1 Accounts are optional and are only for people aged 13 or over. When someone creates an account, we ask them to confirm that they are 13 or older; signing in with Google or Apple includes the same confirmation. We think this self-declaration is proportionate to the low risk involved, in line with the UK Information Commissioner's Age Appropriate Design Code, because an account holds only a player name, an email address and the cosmetic items owned, is not visible to other players, cannot be used to contact anyone, and is never used for marketing or profiling. We do not ask for or store a date of birth.

1.2.2 If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it (see Section 2.0).

1.2.3 Money only buys coins, and coins only buy cosmetic items, which change how a team looks and never how it plays. Season weapons are unlocked with Slime, which is earned by playing and cannot be bought, and coin prices are always shown with their value in pounds. There are no loot boxes or random paid rewards, no time-limited pressure to buy, and nothing in the game that requires a purchase. Players under 18 must have a parent's or carer's permission before buying anything, and every coin pack can only be bought after confirming that the buyer is 18 or over or that a parent or carer has agreed. Payments are made on Stripe's payment page, or in our Android app through Google Play (where Google's own parental controls, such as purchase approval in Google Family Link, also apply), and parents and carers can ask us about a child's purchase at [email protected] (see our Terms of Service, Section 5).

1.2.4 In our Android app, the shop asks Google Play for the player's age range when the coin packs are opened (Google's Play Age Signals service; a parent or carer chooses whether to share it in Google Family Link). If the player is under 18, the shop reminds them that a parent or carer may need to approve purchases; if a parent or carer has not yet approved the latest version of the app, buying coins is switched off until they do. The age range stays in the app's memory while it is open and is never sent to us. See our Privacy Policy, Section 2.0.4.

Section 2 — Parental Notice and Rights

2.0 If We Learn of Underage Data Collection

2.0.1 If we become aware that we hold personal data from a child below the applicable minimum age without appropriate parental consent (for example, an account created by a child under 13, or an email sent to us), we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly.

2.1 Parental Controls and Requests

2.1.1 Parents or legal guardians may contact [email protected] with any question or request about their child's data, including requests for review or deletion of an account.

2.1.2 You can remove everything the game stores on a device by clearing the browser's site data for tardigeddon.com. An account can be deleted at any time from inside the game (Account, then Delete account).

2.1.3 We will take reasonable steps to verify that a person making a request under this Section is the parent or legal guardian of the child in question.

Section 3 — Compliance Frameworks

3.0 Applicable Regulations

3.0.1 We aim to comply with the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code) under the Data Protection Act 2018, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Brazil's Digital Statute of Children and Adolescents (Digital ECA, Law 15.211/2025), and equivalent international frameworks applicable to services likely to be accessed by children.

3.1 Design Principles

3.1.1 We apply data protection by design and by default: we collect the minimum data needed to run the game, make accounts optional, do not profile players, do not use nudge techniques to encourage players to share more information or to spend money, show no adverts, and will never sell items that give a gameplay advantage.

Section 4 — General Legal Provisions

4.0 Entire Agreement

4.0.1 This document, together with any other policies referenced within it, constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Company relating to its subject matter, and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, whether written or oral, relating to that subject matter.

4.1 Severability

4.1.1 If any provision of this document is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, lawful, and enforceable.

4.1.2 If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision will be deemed deleted, and the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions will not be affected.

4.2 Waiver

4.2.1 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right, power, or remedy under this document shall operate as a waiver of that right, power, or remedy, nor shall any single or partial exercise preclude any other or further exercise.

4.2.2 Any waiver of any provision of this document will only be effective if given in writing by an authorised representative of the Company.

4.3 Assignment

4.3.1 You may not assign, transfer, or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under this document without the prior written consent of the Company.

4.3.2 The Company may assign, transfer, or sub-contract any of its rights or obligations under this document at any time, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets, provided such assignment does not materially diminish the rights you have been granted.

4.4 Force Majeure

4.4.1 The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this document where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disaster, war, terrorism, civil unrest, industrial action, government action, pandemic, power or telecommunications failure, or failure of third-party suppliers or hosting providers.

4.5 No Third-Party Rights

4.5.1 Except as expressly stated, this document does not confer any rights on any third party under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, and no third party shall have any right to enforce any of its provisions.

4.6 Relationship of the Parties

4.6.1 Nothing in this document shall be construed as creating a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and the Company.

4.7 Notices

4.7.1 Any notice required to be given under this document shall be in writing and shall be delivered by email to the relevant address specified in the Company Details section above, and shall be deemed received 24 hours after being sent, provided no delivery failure notification is received. We may give notices to you by publishing them on the Website or in the game, or, if you have an account, by email to the address on your account.

4.8 Language and Translation

4.8.1 This document is drafted in English. Any translated versions are provided for convenience only, and in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.

4.9 Survival

4.9.1 Provisions of this document which by their nature are intended to survive termination or expiry — including but not limited to provisions relating to intellectual property, indemnification, limitation of liability, confidentiality, and governing law — shall survive any termination or expiry of your relationship with the Company.

4.10 Interpretation

4.10.1 Headings in this document are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

4.10.2 Words importing the singular include the plural and vice versa. References to "including" or "such as" are illustrative and shall not limit the generality of the preceding words.

Section 5 — Amendments to This Document

5.0 Our Right to Update

5.0.1 The Company may revise and update this document at any time, at its sole discretion, to reflect changes in our practices, the Services (for example, when player accounts or cosmetic purchases are introduced), or applicable law.

5.0.2 The "Last Modified" date at the top of this document will be updated whenever changes are made. Where changes are material, we will use reasonable endeavours to provide additional notice, such as a prominent notice on the Website or in the game, before the change takes effect.

5.1 Your Continued Use

5.1.1 Your continued access to or use of the Website or Services after any revisions to this document take effect constitutes your acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, the revised document.

5.1.2 If you do not agree to the revised document, you must stop using the Website and Services.
